Service Description

Fight, Flight or ? Understanding the Nervous System for Stress Mastery With Robert Cory As a practice, yoga is particularly adept at dealing with stress. The Yoga Sutras (the text that codifies yoga) describes symptoms of stress such as mental anguish, anxiety, and irregular breathing and prescribe specific practices - breath awareness and control exercise - to help alleviate these disturbances to our mental well-being. In this compact workshop, we will look at the role of the autonomic nervous system (parasympathetic : sympathetic balance) in stress and how accessible breathing and postural exercises can help us manage stress symptoms.
